Polka Mass
Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 10am
Celebrated by Fr. Matt McClain (Saint Francis of Assisi Parish/Saint Joseph Church, Cabot)
Music provided by the Shotskis

The first polka Mass was celebrated by Father George Balasko in 1972 in Ohio and the idea was spread by Father Frank Perkovich of Minnesota throughout the 70s and 80s. A polka Mass has all the elements of a regular Mass, the main difference is the hymns are sung to traditional polka tunes or waltzes.
